Bank and safebox in GangCity: keeping your money safe

Earning money is one thing; keeping it safe is another. In GangCity, cash on hand can be stolen. Players who protect their fortune give rivals less to take — and that starts with understanding the difference between pocket cash, the bank and the safebox.

Pocket cash is vulnerable

The money in your pocket is instantly available, but also the most vulnerable: other players can grab it through a robbery or a murder. The golden rule of GangCity: never carry more cash than you need.

The bank

Money in the bank is safe — no crime can touch it there. Depositing and withdrawing is free. On top of that, you earn daily interest on your bank balance. That interest runs in tiers: the first amounts earn the highest rate, larger balances earn progressively less, with a daily cap on the payout. Transferring money to other players has a few thresholds (such as account age or rank) to discourage abuse.

The safebox

The safebox is extra-secured storage for donors. Money in it sits separate from your bank balance and is protected. Withdrawing from the safebox costs a small percentage, so the safebox is meant for money you really want to set aside, not for everyday use.

Will

If you get murdered, part of your bank money can go to your killer as loot (up to a maximum). With a will you decide what happens to your estate. The more you secure and arrange in advance, the less an attacker profits from your death.

Summary

  • Pocket — handy but stealable. Keep it low.
  • Bank — safe, free, with daily interest.
  • Safebox — extra secured (donors), small withdrawal fee.
