Obay in GangCity: The Underground Auction and Marketplace

Obay is GangCity's underground marketplace: an auction system where players buy and sell valuable goods among themselves. This is where the real deals get made, often anonymously and always competitively. Whatever you don't need yourself, you cash in on Obay; whatever you're after, you outbid the competition for.

What gets traded?

  • Bullets — sell surplus stock in large batches.
  • Vehicles — cars and helicopters from your garage.
  • Propertiescasinos and bullet factories can change owners via Obay. They also automatically go back up for auction if the owner is inactive for too long — and a bullet factory as well if it stays heavily damaged for too long.
  • Runners — teams from your street network.
  • Eyewitness statements — anonymous testimonies that can arise from a murder.

How bidding works

A seller lists a lot online with a minimum bid and an auction duration (short or longer). Interested buyers bid against each other; sometimes there's also a buy-it-now price with which you win the auction instantly. When time runs out, the lot goes to the highest bidder.

Listing limit

You can have a maximum of 10 lots for sale at the same time. As soon as one sells or expires, a slot opens up again. Listing itself costs nothing.

Trading smart

Obay rewards market insight: buy up lots that are undervalued and sell when demand is high. Bullets and properties in particular can swing sharply in price around events and family wars.
