Traveling in GangCity: The Five Cities and Why You Travel

The world of GangCity spans five cities. Traveling is a core mechanic: it opens up trade, story missions and new opportunities. The smart player knows exactly where and when to be to profit from the differences between cities.

The five cities

  • Chicago
  • Detroit
  • New York
  • Philadelphia
  • Hawaii — exclusive to donors

Each city has its own economy and contacts. Travel costs differ per destination.

How traveling works

Traveling costs money and time: after departure, you're en route for a while before arriving in the new city. Faster transportation from the shop shortens that travel time. While traveling you can't perform any actions in a city, so plan your movements wisely.

Why travel?

  • Smuggling — prices for liquor and drugs differ per city. Buying where it's cheap and selling where it's expensive is the core of smuggling.
  • Story missions — the city contacts only give you progress if you're standing in their own city.
  • Opportunities and bullets — committing crimes, making contacts and bullet prices also differ per city.

Protection in your city

If you own a property or villa in the city where you're staying, it gives you extra protection against a murder attempt from that city. So where you are also matters for your safety.
