Welcome to the underworld of GangCity. Someone has passed your name on to the High Council — but a name means nothing without proof. This guide walks you through your first day: from your first crime to your first allies. Work through the steps in order and you will stand on solid ground.
In this world, everything revolves around money. Without cash you are nobody. Here is how you earn your first capital and climb in rank.
Crime is your livelihood. Every crime earns money and rank progress. Go to Crime in the menu under Crimes and make your move. Keep committing crimes — it is the engine under your entire career.
Extortion pays more than small crimes, but takes longer. Alternate crime and extortion to maximize your income while one action is on cooldown.
Vehicles are valuable. Start small with bikes; later you can steal cars and even helicopters. You always need to be able to get away fast — wheels matter.
Every action earns rank progress (XP). At 100% you rank up. There are 16 ranks, from Empty-Suit to Legendary Godfather. The higher your rank, the more respect you command and the heavier the crimes you can pull off. You can track your progress on your Status page.
Money alone will not keep you alive. You need gear, and you need to know how to get yourself out of trouble.
Other players can attack you. Without protection you are an easy target. Buy protection in the Shop.
With a weapon you can defend yourself and later take out other players. Use your teeth wisely.
You will get caught regularly. Escaping is an essential skill — and you can also free fellow gangsters. Jail does not hold back anyone who truly wants out.
Pocket cash can be stolen by others through crimes. Money in the bank is safe. The rule: always put your money in the bank, because what is in your pocket can disappear.
A lone wolf does not survive long. You need allies, and you need to get to know the cities — every city has its own rules.
Every city has its own contacts and opportunities. Traveling is essential; go to Travel and pick a destination. Every city is both an opportunity and a risk.
Allies are crucial. Friends can break you out of jail and commit crimes with you. Add players through the member list or the list of online members. Without allies, you will not survive the first month.
Every city has influential figures — Don Moretti in Chicago, Yusuf in Detroit, Mei Ling in New York. Build trust through the story missions for better jobs and rewards.
Once you have worked through these steps, you know the basics. The real depth lies in families and family wars, the hitlist, the casino and the fight for power in the cities. Build trust, choose your allies carefully, and do not forget: the Council is watching you.
